Serves as a team member to assess individual and classroom needs, as well as make recommendations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Complies with Assistive Technology IDEA requirements. Coordinates Assistive Technology team to include scheduling and completing assessments, providing PD to staff, and providing direct services to students. Assists with referrals, assessments, consultations, and implementation of Assistive Technology for students to include follow-up support and reports. Attends applicable IEP and evaluation meetings. Makes provisions for assistive technology devices and services, including using an inventory tracker. Maintains Assistive Technology Process Guide and Assessment tools. Assists with arranging demonstrations, loans, rentals and training. Manages Assistive Technology inventory and purchase requests. Facilitates check-in and check-out process for Assistive Technology inventory. Participates in ongoing professional development to stay current in field. Collaborates with other Assistive Technology team members, teachers, parents, and other applicable school-based team members. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Special Programs. JOB SPECIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years of successful teaching experience in a special education program or providing services for special education students. Familiarity with the wide range of assistive technology currently available. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
